ALE 2016 Paris, 29-31 August. We share because we care.

March 31, 2016 in Uncategorized by Jaume Jornet

Another year, another ALE unconference! Block your calendar from 29-31 of August 2016 and make yourself ready for a trip to Paris, France.

It has been 5 years since first ALE Unconference in Berlin, and we want to amplify the “un” in unconference. We want to turn the knobs up even more on “we share because we care”. In the spirit of the late David Bowie, who wrote in Berlin: “We can be heroes…” Let’s upgrade: We want to take some risks, deviate from well-established paths, and create a gathering for practitioners that is even more open for our potential to emerge in the moment. We propose to abandon pre-planned talks and workshops, “normal” conference sessions. And add some crazy bits, like magic and dancing, meditation and movement, coding in ways never seen before…

…and we are inviting your help! We are looking for crazy, innovative ideas for format and content. What would you like to hear, see , perform, experience at ALE, what topics would you like to explore during these three days? Which kinds of interaction would you like to try? What would you like to be different this year? This is the time and place to share :-)

Found all details and registration at http://ale2016.eu/ . Come and see if you can walk away with your heart unchanged.

ALE2012 will take place at Barcelona

November 15, 2011 in Uncategorized by Jaume Jornet

Yesterday, Michael Leber, Michael Laussegger, Mel, Saket, Tomasz and me meet together in the first ALE2012 location sofa meeting in order to complain the first decision about ALE2012 conference, in what city it will happen. The three candidate cities extracted from the LinkedIn Conversation ‘ALE2012… Who? Then later… when and where? ‘ were Prague, Vienna and Barcelona. All of these cities will be a great place for the conference, but we have to choose one and at the end of the meeting everyone inside agree about the next ALE Unconference will be take place at Barcelona.

Saket starts a new discussion in LinkedIn group, and we are very happy to see Barcelona was very well received. During next weeks, we ALE people have to create the ALE2012 sofas formed by the people who want to participate in those, choose what tool we want to use as basecamp and so on. So let’s start work! Thanks in advance to all the people get involved in accomplish that the second ALE Unconference will be as good as and better than the first one!

Content Take-Over Finished, Site Polished

November 6, 2011 in Uncategorized by Rene-Martin Tudyka

Jaume Jornet and I have finished taking over quite all the content from the original ALE network site (http://alenetwork.squarespace.com) to here. Jaume did a great work, many thanks! Furthermore I polished the user profile settings a little bit. You can now enter your names/IDs for Twitter and LinkedIn and they will be automatically linked to there in your profile (see for example mine: http://alenetwork.eu/members/renemt/profile/).

I also created the Group “Site Feature Requests” to discuss the further development of this site. Feel free to get involved!
